Bon Iver In Paris

Here’s a beautiful video of Bon Iver playing in an apartment in Paris. There’s one HD camera and I love the uncut intimacy it captures. I’ve been listening to Emma, Forever Ago, his most recent release nonstop. The album was recorded in a cabin in Eau Claire, WI during the “spring thaw” hence the name Bon (H)iver meaning good winter in french. It has a recording style and sound unlike anything I’ve heard before. Check it.

Tasty harmonies.

i read about justin (bon) in a recent magazine article, while he was away in the cabin, working on music - maybe MN Monthly? Anyway — the melodic harmonies that these guys pull in these london live sessions is sweet. finding the acousitc-friendly resonant spaces like that is definitely a plus. love the creative instrumentation-collaboration as well: chimes and a uke in ‘lump sum’ are are clutch. downloaded his disk from iTunes last night for $9.99. doesn’t include all elements captured in these vids, but still addicting. http://www.jagjaguwar.com - the rogue production company that released his vids have some other cool indie stuff (including other bon iver recordings) on their site as well.

    thx for the tunes, teej
