Shine Your Light

This video was recorded at the People of Praise Campus Division Lord’s Day on February, 17 2007. A big thank you to Anna Hagens and Kathleen Mahaffey (with two f’s, sorry) for letting us all see their skit.
This is Kevin and my first try at creating videos showing the life we have in the People of Praise. We imagine that we would have a template intro, like seen in the video, and do quick 5 min. updates (or fun events like we have here). Videos seem to be a great way to share life and you can communicate a lot more in a short amount of time. Unfortunately, it can also take more time to make. What do you think? Any ideas? Please share your ideas in the comment section no matter how small! What do we need to do to make good videos!?
The best thing is, everyone can create a video! Kev and I really like the video hosting site blip.tv. Like Youtube or Google Video, it uploads your videos, but it lets you do more with your videos in terms of space and format. So everyone, click the video switch and lets see what we can do! Once you upload a video there are options on most every site to share or embed. All you have to do is copy the HTML code and paste it in the written portion of a blog post. Then you hit the road vloging!. Easy Peasey, right Liz?

Definitely worth it! Those small snip-its of life do a great job of keeping others “in” on what’s going on. I’m always inspired by the creativity of Dinkytown!

Is there a way to upload iMovies into blogs through “embedded text” ? (ie, can those formats be uploaded to youtube, etc? (My videos are much better when effects are added, like your intro on this video.)

Yes, we used iMovie for this video. In iMovie you need to go to File then Share then click the QuickTime and custume compress it much higher then CD rate. Use blip.tv and see how you like it.

    T.J. and Kevin,
This is awesome. It made me laugh out loud and I also just really enjoyed it! There is such joy transferred here that cannot be equalled through mere words on a page. Keep it up… I know that we would all love to see more. Thank you!
